First time there. Had the Hopper and the Traditional. Both were amazing but I liked the Hopper slightly more. Pies were well done, with hearty and tasty fillings, and flaky and well toasted crusts. Got one of them "peaked" with peas/potatoea/gravy. Only reason I didn't give it a 5-star rating would be because although the pies were delicious, I have had better before (albeit specialty made), and the "peaking" while tasty, wasn't amazing (I've had better mash and better gravy before). Overall great bang for the buck, and I'd definitely repeat to satisfy any cravings for savoury meaty goodness!read more

Delicious pie shop just on the backside of the shops in Whistler village. Huge selection of pies. Love how one can "peak" their pies by adding mash potatoes, mashed peas, with delicious gravy on top. Delicious Australian style pies in the heart of Whistler. The steak, cheese and bacon pie was a real standout and the mentil lentil deserves commendation too. Very expensive however for a hand pie, though not too much of a hang up with this as these pies are hard to come by in Canada.read more

Not as amazing as people make them out to be in reviews. They would be amazing if they came out fresh and crisp, but they tasted like they had been made ahead of time and reheated in the microwave. The frozen pot pies that I get at the grocery store that come in a special box with a silver lining to help them crisp up actually come out with a better texture to the pastry crust. When you’ve had homemade, you just really can’t beat straight out of the oven. I don’t know why I was expecting them to be like that, but they are not. And the pie was already brown, so I don't think cooking it longer is the solution. I think the wet ingredients inside and on top just make the whole thing go soft. It doesn't stay crisp and flakey anywhere.read more

I would give this place 5 stars but I've been there twice this summer and both times they screwed up my order. The first time I was charged for a drink that I did not order or receive. The second time I ordered 2 steak and mushroom pies and she gave me steak pepper pies. Both times I discovered this when I got back to my hotel room so it was too much of an inconvenience to go back. How can such a basic order for takeout be screwed up twice to the same customer a month apart by two different staff? The manager must not be concerned with customer satisfaction or is hiring people based on criteria other than good customer service skills.read more

I love new food experiences! This wasn't crazy, out there new food, but a very different combination that I've never tried. Definitely go for the "peaked" pie. Our group tried the vegetable medley, butter chicken, classic, chicken apple and Brie, and the Hopper. We loved all of them except the Hopper. The guy there did warn us that the kangaroo meat is gamey, but our 10 year old wanted to try it. He actually ate quite a lot of it! But it was super gamey. Unless you really like game meat, stick to one of the other options. They were all really good!read more

Really tasty pies but the dining room was tiny and hardly fit any people. We had the hopper and the steak and mushroom. Both weren't very distinct in terms of flavour so perhaps a better choice would be to just stick with the original. Definitely opt for having your pie peaked. The thing that we noticed about Whistler (especially this year) was the large contingent of Aussies in the village… both visiting and also working in the various retail shops. It shouldn’t be a surprise, then, to find a place like Peaked Pies in Whistler. We’ve been to this purveyor of Aussie meat pies in the past (although we still haven’t visited the one in Vancouver yet) and decided to stop off for a hearty snack before dinner (trying to find a good eatery in Whistler around 3pm is a bit difficult so it was a good thing this place was even open). We picked the Chicken, Mushroom, and Leek and made it a “peaked” pie by adding mashed potatoes, mushy green peas, and gravy on top ($8.25 + $3.75). With the gravy that they pour over this, it’s difficult to get a nice pic because everything is covered with gravy (but that’s a good thing because the large mound of mashed potatoes needs the gravy). When you cut inside this meat pie, you find that the chicken is swimming in a creamy oregano sauce. This is a really filling snack and I did like the flakiness of the crust.read more

I primarily eat pies here to consume more carbs and gravy, the gravy is so good here I want to drink it out of a cup with a straw and then roll around in it.....no joke this stuff can make a bad day instantly go away......if you've never had a peaked pie before you'll have to stop by but make sure you come hungry because one pie peaked can feed you and a small child. So how does this place work? Well first you choose your pie which is a delicious meat filled buttery carb creation that acts as the base. You can peak your pie or not and I highly recommend doing that. It's a scoop of drool worthy creamy mashed potatoes, scoop of delicious freshly mushed peas and finally the magic gravy sauce all over for an added $3.25. It's a work of food art and the weather right now is too good to eat this inside. Take yours to go and eat by one of the areas lakes or parks, just be sure to get lots of napkins before you go.The hubby and I agree their pepper steak pie ($7.95) is our favorite so far. The steak is cooked perfectly and you can taste nicely peppered seasoning in each bite. A close runner up for us is the traditional Aussie ($6.95). Service here has always been excellent with the usual friendly whistler vibe. Seating can be limited during a rush so don't be afraid to take your pie to go, their grab and go containers keep all that yumminess warm until you reach your eating destination. Enjoy!read more

Australian pies. Except they are better than any pie I have ever had in Australia, this doesn't mean that they aren't classic Australian it just means that they are better Australians. Seriously these pies are what us Australians think the perfect pie would taste like if someone could be bothered making the perfect pie, the trouble is no one bothers to try that hard normally, however these Canadian cousins have made the effort and they have knocked it out of the ball park. Try their Roo pie it is sensational.read more

I absolutely love the Traditional Aussie and Butter Chicken pies. Also I get some to take back to my suite to have when I'm needing a snack. I always stop by here when I'm staying in Whistler Village. It's one of my favourite stops. The reason for the missing final star would have to be it's location and the size of the place. It is quite small, so if your looking to stop and eat in be prepared to have a plan b. in the event that the 4 seats at the window and the three 3 person tables are full. My plan b is normally, I take the chilled pies and just make them back home in my suite.. but it's just not the same. It's location is also not on the main village stroll so you might miss it, but it's worth searching for.read more

This place is amazing for a quick bit after time on the slopes or after walking the Village. It's a smaller place so be prepared to wait for a table. My advice, wait for a table and get your pies peaked. Diners have the option to chose between something like 10 different kinds of pies (I'm guessing at this figure but it's a lot of choice) and to have them peaked. So, plain with nothing on top or 'Peaked' with mashed potatoes, mushy peas and gravy. GO FOR THE PEAKED OPTION it will likely change your life. Pies are a generous size, have a flaky crust and are jammed with tasty fillings. Pro Tip: Buy some frozen pies to take home with you. The desserts are amazing to, Lamington peaked (with whipped cream and raspberry jam) Yes, please. There is also a take away option for everything on the menu in case you can't spare the time to eat in. I got a cappuccino to pair with dessert which was also quite good, large cup (I had to take the rest to go) with steamed milk and dusted topping.read more

Literally my favourite place in all of Whistler. I look forward to getting a pie here every time I visit. I live several hours away and yet I am still tempted to make the drive JUST for one of these pies, that is how good they are. I have never had a pie I didn't like. Of the different types I have tried, they have always been very rich in flavour, and the crust is just perfect too. The staff is always super friendly, customer service is great! Also, I am writing this review instead of doing my homework (due in a couple house...) because I got distracted thinking out the next time I get to visit this delicious bakery. 10/10 this place is fantastic. Real tasty meat pies that are a perfect size for a single serving. If you’re feeling extra hungry, you can get them “peaked” with a scoop of mashed potatoes and mashed peas. Perfect for a quick bite to eat. We had a steak and mushroom pie, with mashed potatoes, mushy peas and gravy, followed by an apple crumble pie with whipped cream. The steak pie was very tasty, the perfect amount of filling to gravy ratio, and the pastry was flaky and crisp. The mashed potatoes and peas were lacking in seasoning but some gravy and a bit of salt they were just fine. Apple crumble was delicious. I'm a tough Aussie to please when it comes to meat pies since I've had my fair share, so here are my thoughts; If you haven't eaten many pies you will likely enjoy these. The filling is flavorful and the pastry is flaky and delicious, however I feel like the pies should have more filling to balance out the gravy. It was also pretty hard for me to stomach $9 for a pie but when in Whistler.... I also tried a lamington, that was disappointing. It tasted burnt/overcooked and dry, so I didn't bother with any of the other desserts. It's a very small space for such a busy shop with hardly any seating, so be prepared to eat your pie on the goread more

The meat pies are what brought me and what keeps me coming back. Not really a fan of mushy peas at the best of times however there mash potatoes with Gravy more than make up for this. Deserts are light on the stomach ie after a meat pie you don’t need the extra weight. Price is great even when dining with a family. Service is fast. The food is always hot. Best to have it fresh as it's best warm. Every bite with the flaky crust and ground beef with gravy and onions so damn good! I have tried other flavours but I have to say the the Traditional Aussie is hands done my favourite. Still good on a hot day!read more

Shared the traditional peaked pie (with the works - mashed potatoes, peas, and gravy), the black pepper beef, and the chicken leek pie between myself and my partner. Black pepper and the traditional peaked pie were our favs - very flavourful and filling. Definitely worth getting at least one pie peaked with the works :). Probably would've been full enough with two pies. Partner went back another day for the breakfast pie with potatoe, bacon and cheese, and a spinach ricotta roll. We ended up coming here every day and tried basically everything, and it was all incredibly good. Coffee was nice, the food was astoundingly good, the apple crumble pie might be one of the best things I've ever eaten. Lots of choices for meat pies (and a couple veggie) with great coffee and espresso and other specialty drinks. There is also a few options for breakfast style pies. Make sure you get it peaked, because the gravy, mash and mushy peas are amazing and really go hand in hand with a great meat pie. The cappuccino is perfect and the service is friendly and welcoming. The pies are truly worth the hype. We got the Traditional Aussie and the Hopper which were both outstanding. Great pastry dough and the filling is generous and flavourful. We peaked one of the pies and the peas are made with fresh peas and the potato mash and gravy was all tasty and worked well together. Would rate 3.5 if I could. The pies are fantastic - definitely get em peaked (with mashed potato and peas on top)!Take out experience was awful though, the containers are very flimsy and quickly get soggy - my group took our pies back to our apartment across the street and by the time we got there, two out of our four containers were flipped and there was gravy all over the inside of the flimsy plastic bag they gave us. We were about as careful as you'd expect with take out, so it was disappointing to see the state it was in before eating. A solid paper bag likely would have done better!read more

I always come here when I come up to whistler. I tried to hopper. I’ll be honest, I wish it want ground meat. I am not as big a fan of the ground meat pies. I want nice big chunks of meat that are juicy and tender. I feel like it’s the easy way out for ground meat as it’s cooked whatever. With chunks of meat, you know if it’s juicy and cooked with love. Cozy little restaurant with great service. The cashier was patient and answered my questions about the menu items. The pies were served quickly after ordering. Great place to go if you need a quick bite!I ordered the Chunky Steak and Mushroom Pie and got it peaked. This is my first time having a peaked pie and it’s amazing! The mashed potatoes, peas and gravy went so well with the pie. It’s deceivingly filling. The steak was soft as if it was slow cooked and the sauce created by the mushroom, juices and gravy went so well together. I also got to taste the Steak Bacon and Cheese Pie which my girlfriend ordered; it was also great! We ended the meal with a caramel dessert. On a cold October night in Whistler, glad I chose this option over the other vegan eateries in the area. The vegetable medley pie is their only vegan option. It was flaky, warm and hearty. You can have your pie “peaked” but only with the mushy peas which are vegan (mashed potatoes have dairy). The gravy is also vegan and was nice and hot when first served but cooled down quickly…needs to be a bit hotter. Seems a bit pricy just for a pie $17 with tax, but enjoyed it nonetheless. They had a sweet vegan pie too with mixed berries (strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, blackberry). Perfect balance of both savoury and sweet! The spot was casual to dine in, I’d switch up the music but otherwise the staff were friendly and it was a laid back vibe.read more

Great comfort food! We ordered the traditional Aussie Pie, the Hopper (Kangaroo), Cranberry, and curry chicken. My favorites were the curry chicken and the Hopper.I was shocked to see they actually serve kangaroo here. I was warned the meat was very gamey and like venison, but they cooked it really nicely (wasn’t gamey at all). Each of the pies were warm, flavorful, and savory. I did not find any of them too salty, sweet, or on the extremes. Each pie could be topped off with peas and mashed potatoes if desired. Prices were decent considering it is Whistler village. Plenty of flavors to choose from and I doubt you can go wrong with any of them! What’s not to like?! These pies are delicious! I had the pepper steak one along with a sausage roll. They’re as good as they look! Haven’t made it back for breakfast yet, but really want one of those too. Shop is pretty small for dine in, but we just got them to go for a chill night back in our room.read more

Great pies and great crust! The curry beef was my favourite. And the price for the pie is not including the masked peas and potatoes and gravy. So it comes to about $18+ for one pie. But it’s super filling.read more

I’ve always wanted to review this place but have just been busy with work. I guess it's better late than never. We patronized Peaked Pies when we visited Whistler for our 37th wedding anniversary last year (2023). Interestingly enough, we got to read their story about how an Aussie girl met a Canadian boy, and with their love, the beginning of Peaked Pies in Whistler. We felt so proud to be a part of this when we visited the place. We absolutely loved Peaked Pies. The place is simple yet has that Whistler charm in its decorations. We were lucky that there weren't many people there at the time of our visit. We shared a pie (I can't remember which one) and coffee, and we enjoyed the pie so much that we bought a couple more to take back to our hotel. The place was clean, and the staff was friendly. We could feel the sincere, personalized service from them. We love Peaked Pies and will definitely come back if we're in Whistler again.read more

We have literally eaten there every day since we found this place. And plan to go again today, our last day here. Get your pie peaked and with extra gravy. It’s amazing. We have tried the traditional, steak and pepper, and berry pie. And they are all so good. Going to miss this place. We will be back!!! You can see the steam coming off the pie in the picture.read more

This was a great spot to enjoy a quick lunch. There are a few spots available to dine in or sit outside. They have a nice variety of pies. Our favorite was the peppered steak pie. Delicious! Each can be topped with mashed potatoes, peas and gravy.read more

Pies, peas, potatoes and portable meals makes for a great easy dinner, quick lunch, or just lazy alliteration by this reviewer. Why not 5 stars? Given the food, service and atmosphere were all outstanding. I can’t help but feel the meal was lacking in some way. It may have been the fact that I couldn’t quite sum up how to explain the experience of eating the Kangaroo pie. The kangaroo pie was good, will have to suffice for now. On the other hand, the Mushroom Leak and chicken pie was absolutely delicious. The mushy peas were fine. Edible but I definitely didn’t find myself wanting to go back for that specifically. The mash was, well mash, it did the job. I can’t complain about the gravy. It was there and gravy.I definitely do not recommend the wooden take out silverware, bad mouthfeel which adds a bitter taste to each bite.read more

Stopped in for a super late lunch on a Friday just before 3:30. There will still people coming in an out at that time, but it wasn't super busy. All of the pies are already made, and they reheat them for you. We ordered the Traditional Aussie, Butter Chicken, and Sausage Roll. The Traditional Aussie is ground beef with gravy, which I liked over the butter chicken because the chicken tasted old and dry. We didn't get them peaked (mashed potatoes and mushy peas) because I don't like peas. Even without it peaked, it was enough food for two people. The sausage roll was good too, but it was more like a roll of ground beef than it was sausage. I wish it came with some sort of dipping sauce.Good place for quick meal. I can imagine this place getting packed during the wintertime when people are on a ski break, and want a quick but hearty meal. There is limited seating though.read more

Got a few pies for a quick lunch during our stay at Whistler. Pies were already premade and sitting in the warmer. Was reading some of the reviews mentioning that they reheat it for you? This was never offered to us. Perhaps it was because I didn’t tip them for my to-go takeout preference? Utensils weren’t offered to us either until I asked. Bad service, but the food was good for what it was although a bit pricey for the size of pie you get. $12 for non-peaked, or $18.50 for peaked. We went for the non-peaked pies. 3 of them came out to about $40. 3/5*read more

Loved their Lentil Mentil pie.Great pie, truly homemade flavours. Didn’t get mashed potato and peas because I was looking for a light breakfast and I thought extra $5 on top of a $13 for a medium sized pie was a bit too much! All the staff are super kind and thoughtful in their suggestions and any food related answering questions. Also, before catching my bus to Vancouver I grabbed an Americano plus their famous carrot cake! Tastes like heaven. Must try!!read more

First time trying Peaked Pies and it was really good. This review was for July 2022 when I visited Whistler. I heard this store because of Furious Pete, YouTube, world tour.
